These are songs that Wilco has covered, not the other way around. Nevertheless, I couldn’t not use this photo when I found it.

You may remember a few months ago when I posted 6 covers by and of Wilco. You may not. Either way, I recently stumbled onto some other excellent covers that Wilco has done, and felt I would be remiss (I’m pretty sure I’m using that correctly, right? I just remember my English teacher saying it a lot, and thought it worked well here)  not to share them with you all. Watch ‘em, love ‘em, hate ‘em, vote for ‘em below:

*Note: some of these may be repeats from the previous ‘covers’ post, but that’s because they were too good to pass up. Tweedy doing Single Ladies? C’mon!

Beyon'Tweedy

In celebration of Wilco’s newest B-side, I Love My Label, a cover of a Nick Lowe song of the same name, I thought it would be interesting to see what other cover tunes have the Wilco “Stamp of Approval” (*) on them. Below are 6 of the best cover songs by and of Wilco i could find. Some may shock you. Others may make you giggle. Still others…you may have seen before. At any rate, please enjoy this collection of covers by and of Wilco. (* Note: not an actual stamp)

The one I feel honored simply watching: Wilco performs Neil Young’s Broken Arrow

The one that I wish I could have been there to see: 7 Worlds Collide (featuring Wilco members Jeff Tweedy, Glenn Kotche, John Stirratt and Pat Sansone, with Ed O’Brien, Neil and Liam Finn, and Johnny (Freakin’) Marr) Performs Radiohead’s Fake Plastic Trees

The one that someone clearly recorded off  of TV, but is still pretty awesome: Norah Jones performs Wilco’s Jesus, Etc.

The one I want on my iPod: 7 Worlds Collide performs The Smiths’ There Is a Light That Never Goes Out

The one for hipsters with a soul: The Low Anthem performs Wilco’s A Shot In The  Arm

The one you should e-mail to your girlfriend: Jeff Tweedy performs Beyonce’s All The Single Ladies

What do you guys think? Is Jeff Tweedy trying to tell us something? Aren’t we all just “Single Ladies” on the inside? If you guys like any of these videos, please do me a huge solid and put a ring on it. Thanks.
